After Trump's latest statements, Iran's military announces “surprise measures for the enemy”: “Beyond their imagination”

An Iranian military spokesman said a resumption of conflict with the United States is “possible” after US President Donald Trump rejected Tehran's latest peace proposal, CNN reported.
“The evidence showed that the United States is not committed to any promise or agreement,” Brigadier General Mohammad Jafar Asadi, spokesman for Iran's military headquarters, was quoted as saying by the country's news agencies.
“Surprise measures are planned for the enemy, beyond their imagination,” Asadi added.
On Friday, US President Donald Trump said he was not happy with Iran's new proposals for talks to end the war, casting doubt on the prospects of an eventual deal between Washington and Tehran.
“Right now I'm not satisfied with what they're offering,” Trump said, without specifying exactly what he found unacceptable in Iran's new proposals.
Two belligerent camps “comfortable” with the stalemate
Mostafa Salem, a CNN reporter specializing in Middle East politics and regional affairs, wrote in an analysis that both Washington and Tehran are signaling that they have the capacity to endure a prolonged stalemate, even if it could force the rest of the world to pay a heavy price for a war it did not choose, given the economic effects of the conflict.
The fact that Iran appears unwilling to make a compromise acceptable to the US suggests that it is comfortable with the situation, despite the US naval blockade that threatens its economy. As the conflict drags on, Tehran believes that its vision for a new regional order is gradually approaching the moment when it will be accepted, Mostafa Salem says.
Trump, on the other hand, said he was “not in a hurry” and remained faithful to his naval blockade, even though some analysts believe it will take weeks before the necessary pressure can be exerted on an Iran that has gone through years of sanctions, the reporter also wrote.
