For President Donald Trump, the responsibility for the problems in the US still rests with his predecessor, Joe Biden, writes CNN.
In a lengthy press conference at the White House on Tuesday, Trump spoke about the first year of his second term as president, when he returned to a familiar “chorus”: blame Biden.
From immigration to inflation and much broader topics, Trump mentioned Biden's name repeatedly during his lengthy speech in the White House briefing room.
Trump's appearance was billed as an opportunity to tout his first-year accomplishments, but it turned into a moment that highlighted the challenges he faces in this critical midterm election year. He tried to refocus the discussion on immigration by holding up posters reading “The worst of the worst” — showing a series of photos of arrested “criminals” — as he defended his administration's response in Minnesota.
“Sleepy Joe Biden ('sleepy Joe Biden', no). Crook Joe Biden, whatever you like. You can call him whatever you want,” Trump said. “He's both, isn't he? He's sleepy and he's corrupt. He was the worst president we've ever had” in history, the US president also said.
