A Russian drone entered Romania's airspace. MApN raised F-16 aircraft

Russian forces launched a new wave of attacks on Ukrainian civil infrastructure in the Danube area, on the night of Friday to Saturday. MApN radars identified a group of approximately twenty drones near the river border with Romania, one of which briefly penetrated the national airspace, in the Chilia area.

The incursion was short-lived, with the device later resuming its route to targets in Ukraine. Several explosions were reported on the Ukrainian side of the Danube.

Two F-16 aircraft took off from the 86th Fetești Air Base around 02.00 to monitor the situation. The National Military Command Center (core) notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations regarding the establishment of measures to alert the population in the north of Tulcea county, being sent, at 02.03, a RO-Alert message.

The air alert ended at 02.50.
