Donald Trump talked to Vladimir Putin. The President of Russia with a proposal
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Thursday that he had instructed members of his team to learn more details about the proposal, but stressed that Ukraine's main goal was to secure a long-term ceasefire and ultimately end the war.
“We will explain what exactly is going on – a few hours of security for the parade in Moscow, or something more,” Zelensky wrote in a post on the X website.
Last year, Putin unilaterally announced a 72-hour ceasefire with Ukraine from May 8 to May 11, marking the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory in World War II. Ukraine rejected the ceasefire as an “empty gesture.”
