According to the institution, on average, approximately 3,500 border policemen will be mobilized daily, both at the crossing points and in the areas adjacent to them. The forces will be redistributed according to the evolution of passenger flows, to ensure the fastest possible processing of traffic.
“At Romania's external border – with Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova and Serbia – emphasis will be placed on the efficiency of control by adapting the number of policemen in the check booths, as well as by using the capacity of the existing infrastructure to the maximum, including for goods traffic, in order to avoid the formation of blockages”, the Border Police said
As for the internal border, on relations with Hungary and Bulgaria, traffic is carried out without stops at the former checkpoints.
However, the police remind that valid travel documents are mandatory, including for minors, who must comply with the legal conditions of accompaniment.
“Given the significant increase in the number of passengers during this period, including at airports, we recommend careful travel planning and early presentation at the airport, according to the airline companies' instructions”, the Border Police also specified.
At the same time, the institution emphasizes that it maintains a permanent collaboration with similar authorities in neighboring states, for efficient traffic management and the prevention of cross-border criminality.
To avoid congestion, travelers are advised to use all crossing points open to international traffic and to inquire about travel conditions before departure.
