Pets should not be given food with onions and garlic, barbecue, smoked meats, bones, meat marinated with spices, alcohol, nuts, chocolate, avocado and raisins. These products can cause poisoning, allergies, problems with the liver and pancreas, and in some cases, pose a threat to life.
If an animal shows signs of poisoning, veterinarians advise urgently contacting the clinic.
Instead, you can offer your pet boiled chicken or turkey without spices, lean beef or boneless fish, vegetables – carrots, cucumber, zucchini – as well as fruits, such as a seedless apple or seedless watermelon.
Experts also remind you that you should not leave food unattended, you need to promptly remove garbage and leftover food and provide the animal with access to water. Guests should also be asked not to feed the dog from the table.
