Daniel Stanciu, his official FC Argesoffered the first explanation after the club from Pitesti did not receive the license to participate in European competitions for the following season, in case the team coached by Bogdan Andone would have occupied an eligible place.
The commercial director of the club explained that the problems were related to delays in the payment of obligations to the state and non-compliance with the deadlines imposed in the licensing process.

The official from Pitesti detailed the problem that led to this decision.
“We had that problem with the debts to the state, to ANAF. We were two or three months late, we had a rescheduling. In order not to lose the rescheduling, that is, the last installment, we had to pay it. The money came later and still not all came. I paid, but I didn't exactly meet the deadlines imposed by UEFA licensing. I got a license for SuperLiga, but…
They are two different things. First of all, there is the ranking in the championship, and if we win the semi-final with Cluj University and reach the final, what? Are we not playing the final anymore? It's a trophy, any place brings money. We are a very budget dependent team.
We have a limited budget. Things are and will come in, starting next week, all right. The problem was this gap. For some reasons, we submitted the project very late, plus the delays from our commercial partners, who all have problems”, said Daniel Stanciu, according to digisport.ro.

FC Argeș, without a UEFA license
FRF has officially announced the teams eligible to participate in European competitions next season, after FC Argeș and Rapid did not receive, in the first phase, the UEFA license in the first stage of the licensing process for European cups.
Both clubs appealed, but only Rapid subsequently obtained the right to participate, the decision in the case of Pitesti being final. Among the teams in the play-off, Universitatea Craiova, Universitatea Cluj, CFR Cluj and Dinamo Bucharest received the UEFA license.
From the play-out, FC Botoșani, Csikszereda Miercurea Ciuc, Farul Constanța and FCSB obtained the license.
