Trump said Ukraine had lost and its 159 warships were at the bottom. He probably meant Iran

United States President Donald Trump said that Ukraine has allegedly already lost “militarily.” He said this on April 29 during a briefing at the White House.

So, answering the question of which war, in his opinion, will end first: the United States with Iran or Russia against Ukraine, Trump said that he “doesn’t know.” He also suggested that these wars could end at the same time.

After that, he said that Ukraine “militarily has already been defeated.” Trump said that Kyiv allegedly had 159 ships, “and now every ship is under water.” “It’s usually pretty telling,” the US president said.

Apparently, he confused Ukraine with Iran: he had previously stated that the United States sank 159 Iranian warships. At the same time, Ukraine has never had such a fleet: as of 2018, the Naval Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces had 18 ships.
