“Thank you Abbas Aragchi for the good conversation. Protecting civilians, striving for peace in the region and opening the Strait of Hormuz are priority issues for Poland. Our diplomacy is working – despite the difficult situation, our embassy in Tehran remains open,” wrote Radosław Sikorski on social media after a telephone conversation with the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Earlier, summarizing the negotiations in Pakistan, the Axios website wrote that the diplomatic process has stalledand the Iranian leadership is divided over possible concessions regarding the nuclear program. “The Iranian proposal would bypass this issue, allowing for a faster agreement,” the article says.
One of the website's sources reported that Aragchi clearly told mediators from Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey and Qatar last weekend that There is no agreement within the Iranian leadership on how to respond to US demands. The United States wants Iran to suspend its uranium enrichment program for at least 10 years and to remove the already enriched uranium from the country.
The new proposal focuses on the solution first of all, the crisis around the Strait of Hormuz and the American naval blockade. This would involve agreeing a long-term ceasefire or permanently ending the war.
