In Krasnoyarsk, rental and personal electric scooters and other personal mobility devices have been banned from traveling along the central streets of the city. The head of the city, Sergei Vereshchagin, spoke about this.

He explained that he signed documents that establish the procedure for using and placing the SIM. The rules will apply not only to kick sharing, but also to owners of personal scooters.

“We already have the right to fine anyone who breaks the rules. But still, you need to get used to any innovations and configure the system. Therefore, we give the opportunity kicksharing companies to reconfigure their work. Now they will transfer funds to the budget for the use of the city’s infrastructure. This is the practice of many cities. Parking of vehicles will be possible only in certain areas. There are about 600 of them in the city,” said Sergei Vereshchagin.

The owner will be given 2 hours to repark a scooter abandoned in the wrong place. After this, he is evacuated to the impound lot.

“The main changes are coming in the city center. You can no longer use SIM on Mira, Marx, Lenin and other streets. They didn’t forget about the restrictions on the right bank. Where bicycle paths are organized, SIM traffic is allowed,” the mayor explained.

Sergei Vereshchagin noted that this decision may be adjusted in the future. The mayor also promised that a network of bicycle and pedestrian routes would be developed in the city.
