UFO on wheels! The brand loved by Romanians has launched a model with an alien design on the Chinese market: what does it look like

Hyundai presented at Auto China 2026 the new IONIQ V, an electric model developed specifically for the Chinese market. The car marks an important step for the South Korean manufacturer, which is trying to regain ground in one of the world's most competitive car markets.
IONIQ V has a completely new, futuristic design, not just a “concept”, different from the other models in the IONIQ family. The body has flowing lines, a sleek profile and a modern look designed to appeal to the young and tech-savvy audience. The dimensions are generous: 4.9 meters long and a wheelbase of 2.9 meters, which translates into a spacious interior and more comfort for front and rear passengers.

Inside, Hyundai emphasizes digitization. The model gets a huge 27-inch screen with 4K resolution integrated into the dashboard. The multimedia system is supported by a powerful processor and includes a voice assistant based on artificial intelligence, capable of controlling several functions of the car through voice commands.
Technically, the IONIQ V is built on an 800V electric platform, which means fast charging and better efficiency. The batteries are supplied by CATL, and the version with high autonomy it promises over 600km in the Chinese CLTC cycle, equivalent to around 450-480km in the European WLTP standard.
Hyundai has yet to announce pricing, powertrains, or an exact launch date. However, the appearance of this model is part of a large plan: the company wants to launch more than 20 new models in China in the coming years and seriously increase its sales.
In short, the IONIQ V is a modern, spacious and well-equipped electric model, specially created for the tastes and requirements of Chinese customers, after its popularity in the European & North American markets has exploded in recent decades.
