Macroeconomics favors Polish entrepreneurs. The year 2025 is full of positives


The results of a study conducted by the Polish Economic Institute (PIE) indicate that over half of enterprises in Poland considered their financial situation in 2025 to be good or very good. At the same time, 43 percent companies predict that their condition in 2026 will also be at a high level.

According to the PIE report, the percentage of companies positively assessing their financial situation in 2025 (51%) turned out to be higher than forecast a year earlier, when only 43%. companies anticipated this result. In December 2024, 15 percent companies were afraid that their condition would be bad or very bad.
“Forecasts for 2026 are similar to those for 2025.” — noted the Institute. According to the study, 43 percent companies expect a good or very good financial situation in the coming year, while 13 percent predicts deterioration, and 15 percent is unable to determine its future financial condition.

Medium-sized companies look to the future with optimism
The most optimistic predictions for 2026 were recorded among medium-sized enterprises, of which 45 percent expects a good or very good financial situation. Difficulties with forecasting the future were most often reported by large companies – as many as 27%. of them were unable to assess what their financial condition would be like.
In 2025, more than half of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises assessed their situation as good or very good, while among large companies 46% expressed a similar opinion. Interestingly, it was the largest enterprises that were least likely to indicate a bad or very bad financial situation – only 1%. such answers. In turn, among micro-enterprises this percentage was 17%, which was the highest result in the study.
Financial and technology industries at the forefront of optimism
The largest percentage of entrepreneurs predicting a good or very good financial situation in 2026 came from the finance and insurance sector – as much as 60%. respondents from this industry expressed such opinions. Similar optimism prevailed among companies dealing with real estate, service activities and IT and communications, where more than half of respondents predicted a positive financial condition.
On the other hand, the greatest uncertainty about the future concerned enterprises in the industrial processing industry (22 percent of respondents were unable to determine their financial situation), transport and warehousing (18 percent) and administration services and support activities (17 percent).

Macroeconomics favored entrepreneurs in 2025.
As noted by the Polish Economic Institute, 2025 brought improvement in macroeconomic conditions, which translated into better financial results of companies. The slowdown in inflation and the reduction of interest rates by the National Bank of Poland (NBP) had a positive impact on the activities of enterprises.
The report shows that more than half of companies did not increase the use of external financing in 2025, and only 9 percent did. respondents indicated an increase in this area. The greatest interest in external funds was recorded among large enterprises (22%) and companies from the transport, forwarding and logistics (TSL) industry – 11%.
The study on the basis of which the report was prepared was conducted in December 2025 on a sample of 1,000 companies. The Polish Economic Institute is a public think tank analyzing key economic and social issues.
