“The Regional Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw is carrying out verification activities aimed at verifying media information regarding the ZEN.COM company, in order to determine whether there is a reasonable suspicion of committing a crime that may constitute the basis for initiating preparatory proceedings,” the entry reads.

According to UAB media ZEN.COM is a company founded in Lithuania by Poles. Its supervisory board includes former president Andrzej Duda. ZEN.COM as a provider of payment and shopping solutions, including:and enable payment for online gambling, which is illegal in Poland, and act as a payment gateway for banned websites – according to the material published on Friday by the tvn24.pl portal.

ZEN.COM was loud this weekend – this company made a record donation of PLN 5.5 million at the famous Łaganga fundraiser.

A week ago, KO MP and leader of the group in Podkarpacie, Paweł Kowal, called on the voivodeship marshal. Podkarpackie Władysław Ortyl to immediately clarify the relationship between the voivodeship and the company, which is the titular patron of the congress center in Jasionka near Rzeszów. According to the MP ZEN.COM was able to provide instrumentation for Zondacrypto customers.

The investigation into the possible fraud of customers of the Zondacrypto cryptocurrency exchange and money laundering has been conducted since April 17 by the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Katowice. The basis for its initiation were notifications from the injured parties and media reports on problems related to the payment of funds collected under Zondacrypto.

The proceedings are being conducted for fraud of significant value and money laundering. On the day the proceedings were initiated, the amount of damage was estimated at at least PLN 350 million, but – as investigators point out – it increases with each passing day, as does the number of victims. The prosecutor's office reported that more than 700 victims have reported so far.

“Gazeta Wyborcza” reported on Monday that, according to the findings of the Polish services, one of the most dangerous Russian criminal groups – the Tambov mafia, linked to the politicians of Vladimir Putin's party – has control over the Zondacrypto cryptocurrency exchange.

The daily indicated that Prime Minister Donald Tusk spoke about the Russian thread in the Zondacrypto scandal for the first time during a closed session of the Sejm on December 5, 2025. According to “GW”, Tusk, when informing about the “Russian thread”, used a secret note from the Internal Security Agency.

“Gazeta Wyborcza” wrote that the ABW memo, which the head of government was supposed to refer to during the secret sessions of the Sejm on December 5 last year, contains information that the majority shares in the Zondacrypto cryptocurrency exchange were taken over by the Russians in July 2018. Zondacrypto was then called BitBay and after a period of initial successes, it experienced a serious collapse.

“Then the Tambo people, who operated through a Polish intermediary, came to the rescue. Mateusz Bajer, one of the co-founders of the company, sold his majority shares. Officially, they were taken over by three entities registered in the United Arab Emirates by Sylwester Suszek, the second founder of BitBay. But behind everything was the money of the Tambo people. Suszek disappeared in February 2022. The police believe he is dead. In 2018, the stock exchange changed name to Zondacrypto,” wrote “GW”. (PAP)
