There will be a general strike at Dino! The network's management did not appear at the mediation
No one from the Dino Polska management board showed up at the mediation meeting that was supposed to take place on April 27 this year. Therefore, representatives of trade unions operating online are announcing a general strike. They demand, among other things: PLN 900 raise, creation of the Company Social Benefits Fund, increase in employment level and improvement of working conditions in stores belonging to the chain.
The first mediations between representatives of the Inter-Enterprise Organization OPZZ Konfederacja Pracy and the management board of Dino Polska regarding a collective dispute in this network took place on April 7 this year. at the “Dialog” Social Partnership Center in Warsaw. However, this meeting did not resolve the conflict. The second round of talks was to take place on April 27 this year.
– Unfortunately, no one from Dino showed up at the meeting. Last time they at least sent lawyers, but now they weren't even there. They completely ignored us – says Wojciech Jendrusiak, chairman of OPZZ Konfederacja Pracy, to Bankier.pl. – Therefore, in the near future we intend to organize a protest in front of the company's headquarters in Krotoszyce. We are also preparing for a general strike.
A warning strike has already taken place
Due to the lack of progress in mediations, on Saturday, April 25 this year. A warning strike took place in several hundred Dino stores across the country and lasted for two hours.
– It usually took the form of an Italian strike, i.e. employees performed their duties slower than usual. Many did not decide on another form of protest, because those who declared participation in the protest were threatened with disciplinary dismissal
– says Wojciech Jendrusiak. – It was a yellow card for Dino, now it's time for a red one. We intend to use all possible tools to improve the working conditions of people employed in this network. Especially since, as you can see, there is no will to conduct any dialogue.
The collective dispute at Dino has been ongoing since December
The planned mediations were to take place in a collective dispute at Dino. Since December, trade unionists operating at Dino Polska have been raising alarms, among others: about:
• too low salaries for employees,
• lack of the Company Social Benefits Fund,
• low staffing in supermarkets and warehouses,
• pressures on work efficiency,
• too low temperature in stores,
• low quality of recovery meals in distribution centers,
• prohibitions on taking holidays during the summer months.
We also asked the Dino chain for a comment on this matter, but by the time of publication we had not received a response.
