High-ranking politicians close to Orban are looking for opportunities to obtain American visas, hoping to find work in institutions associated with the MAGA movement – added the Guardian.

Fortunes flow to exotic paradises

The daily emphasized, citing sources in the Fidesz party, that after Orban lost the elections on April 12, three members of his inner circle began to transfer their assets to Saudi Arabia, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore and Australia.

Also a future prime minister Magyar accused “oligarchs linked to Orban” of transferring assets abroad, mentioning the UAE, USA and Uruguay. The politician noted that the Hungarian tax office NAV had suspended several transfers of Antal Rogan, a politician associated with Orban who was on the US sanctions list for some time due to corruption allegations.

Magyar called on national institutions to detain people who “caused billions of forints of damage to Hungary” and for investors to refrain from purchasing assets “related to the mafia.” He added that several families linked to Orbán's government have already left Hungary, and several more are preparing for this by withdrawing their children from schools.

One of such families – according to Magyar's information – are the relatives of Loerinc Meszaros, one of the richest Hungarians and Orban's closest friends.

Frantic destruction of evidence

Hungarian independent media – the portals VSquare and 444 – reported that people close to Orban were transferring their assets for fear of potential takeover, freezing or nationalization by the Magyar government. Portal 444 reported that the practice began in March, i.e. before the elections.

Magyar also warned that many documents have been destroyed in recent weeks, which could burden the outgoing prime minister's environment. “We are receiving more and more reports of large-scale destruction of documents by various ministries, institutions and companies close to Fidesz,” Magyar wrote on social media earlier in April.

“The Guardian”, citing a source in Fidesz, reported that Orban will go to the USA during the FIFA Men's World Cup; the opening match will be played on June 11. “Orban's exact destination is unknown, although his eldest daughter and son-in-law moved to New York last summer“- added the daily.

Other high-ranking people associated with Fidesz are applying for work visas to the US, hoping to use their knowledge in institutions linked to the Republican Party, sources in the US administration and Fidesz said.

Hungarian investigative journalist Szabolcs Panyi pointed out that The US has long been perceived as Plan B for those in Orban's circle. “As long as Donald Trump's administration is in power, the United States can become a safe haven for the highest levels of the Orban regime,” said Panyi, quoted by the British daily.
