Bogdan Ivan, former Minister of Energy: “It is not a PSD-AUR alliance, but a conjunctural situation”

Bogdan Ivan (PSD) rejected on Monday the idea of a political rapprochement between the Social Democrats and AUR, after the announcement of the initiation of a joint censure motion against Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan. The former Minister of Energy stated that it is not about an alliance, but about “a conjunctural situation“, generated by PSD's decision to withdraw political support for the head of government.
In the balance conference, the former social-democratic minister explained that the party voted to withdraw support for the prime minister, and the motion is a natural consequence:
“It is not an alliance, it is a conjunctural situation, a situation in which the PSD assumed by an overwhelming vote, 97.7% of our colleagues in the country decided to withdraw the political support of the current prime minister, Ilie Bolojan, and we are carrying out this project”. Ivan said, quoted by Agerpres.
“Any supporter is welcome”
Bogdan Ivan points out that the prime minister was given a deadline to resign, but, in the absence of an answer, PSD moved on to preparing the motion.
“I gave a deadline for Mr. Prime Minister to voluntarily resign. This did not happen, therefore, he came up with the draft motion of censure in Parliament that needs supporters, so any supporters are welcome“, said the former head of Energy.

We remind you that, also on Monday, former Deputy Prime Minister Marian Neacșu announced that PSD will draft the motion together with AUR. He specified that, together with Petrișor Peiu, he is dealing with the technical part of the document, following that the political decisions will be communicated by the leaderships of the two parties. Neacșu emphasized that both formations will appear as initiators and appealed to the parliamentarians interested in contributing to the text and signing the motion.
Petrișor Peiu, the Leader of the AUR senators, confirmed that it is a joint approach, with the intention that the motion will be submitted and debated at the beginning of May. Asked if this collaboration could represent a first step towards a possible joint governance, Peiu stated that the discussions are aimed exclusively at the motion: “There is no pact with the PSD. It is a common solution for now.”
Neacșu added, in the same context: “Every road starts with the first step. For now, we are facing this endeavor.”
