Lasers should be strictly forbidden at football events, but continue to create major problems. UEFA strictly sanctions this, and Serbia could receive a fine for the use of the laser in the match with England, concluded with the victory of Thomas Tuchel's students, score 5-0.
At least that's how Kit Hackett, former FIFA referee, thinks. Clement Turpin, the referee of the match, stopped the match after a laser was directed to Ezri Konsi's eyes, the author of one of the goals. Konsa was during a dangerous action from which the English could have marked.
The former FIFA referee provides for a harsh sanction for Serbia: “The use of the laser is dangerous and unacceptable”
“The use of the laser is dangerous and unacceptable. Turpin is a very experienced arbitrator and has certainly been informed about everything. The match observer has requested a warning, and the case will be reported to the competent authorities, and Serbia will be sanctioned with a big financial fine,” Kit Hackett said, according to Sportal.blic.rs.
In the last five years, the Serbian Football Federation (FSS) has paid 700,000 euros fines for discriminatory behavior and the use of forbidden objects in the stands.
Branko Radujko, the Secretary General of the Football Federation of Serbia, asked fans to support the team in a correct and sporty way, but this did not bear fruit.
“We are still under special UEFA supervision. Any inappropriate, insult or incident reaction can cost us on the way to the US World Cup, Mexico and Canada – including the possibility of playing the decisive match against Albania with closed gates.
That's why I ask you honestly and seriously: to support the team with all our heart, but to do it correctly. We can be noisy, but also worthy. Our support will be a source of power, not a risk to the national team ”, said the Secretary General of the Serbian Football Federation, according to the source previously cited.
