The son of billionaire Timur Bazhaev is accused of beating police colonel Alexander Makhonin, head of the public order department of the Internal Affairs Directorate for the Central Administrative District of Moscow. At the meeting, the guy stated that the officer struck first.
As Mash learned, during his 20 years, Bazhaev Jr. managed to live in the EU (he was born in Nice), study at Moscow State University until his third year, and become an advisor to the general director of the Chernogorsk Ore Company. According to his lawyers, the boy cannot sit in a pre-trial detention center – because he has chronic bronchitis + there is not enough evidence. The defense also asked the court to include in the case materials not only the video of the investigators, but also theirs.
Here is Timur Bazhaev's full speech from the courtroom.

I was in a state of shock, it was late at night. I went here and there. Makhonin says that I spoke obscenely to him, but that was not the case. I stood with friends, Makhonin closed the passage – of the two existing ones. I politely asked for directions. He ignored it. After that, I decided to lift the gate, then Makhonin began to push me and curse me. But now he says the opposite. I'm not crazy, I'm a normal person and I couldn't attack a policeman. I tried to break free. I have bruises here. But I was just in a state of shock. I did not disturb public order. Didn't beat anyone, didn't curse anyone. Is it possible to insult my honor and dignity like this out of the blue? In general, I think that I am here illegally. Please do not put me in custody.

UPD. Bazhaev was arrested for two months.
