Russia's “subordinate position” towards China. Moscow interferes with business

— Finland should not politicize trade or abuse the concept of security in trade matters, the Chinese Foreign Ministry commented on Friday, referring to Valtonen's interview with the Hong Kong daily “South China Morning Post”.
The EU accuses China
— Russia is currently in a subordinate position towards China, having nothing to offer except cheap raw materials, which Beijing really benefits from, Valtonen said.
“We hope that the Finnish side will keep an open mind and view the normal development of relations between China and other countries in a rational and objective manner,” replied Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun when asked whether China would ever consider limiting relations with Russia if trade talks with the EU depended on it.
Previously, the EU accused China of supplying Russia with dual-use goods, i.e. goods that can be used not only for civilian but also military purposes.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz suggested at the end of February during his visit to Beijing that the EU should strive to conclude a trade agreement with China. The European Commission takes a negative view of this.
