According to the regional police, the organizer of the scheme was a previously convicted 37-year-old Krasnoyarsk resident. He involved three acquaintances in the case – a 45-year-old married couple and a 26-year-old girlfriend.
The attacker found lonely people leading an antisocial lifestyle and convinced them to sign a contract for military service. Before deployment, he persuaded recruits to enter into fictitious marriages with women from his group. It is noteworthy that one of them was persuaded into a fake marriage by her own partner, who also participated in the scheme. After this, the organizer connected citizens’ bank accounts to their SIM cards, the scammers controlled all receipts to the fighters’ accounts—one-time payments and monthly allowances—and withdrew the money.
In total, the group members stole 23.3 million rubles from six military personnel (three of them died, three were missing) and three organizations. In the criminal case, nine parties were recognized as victims. In January of this year, the court declared the marriage of one of the dead soldiers to be fictitious – his daughter filed a lawsuit, and the marriage was annulled.
In addition, in January 2024, a friend approached the organizer and verbally gave him his Audi for temporary use, since he himself was entering into a contract. Taking advantage of the absence of a friend, the attacker executed a false purchase and sale agreement in his name, pawned the car, and spent the money on himself.
Criminal cases were opened against the organizer under articles of using a forged document and fraud. The three remaining participants were charged with fraud. The investigation has been completed. Three defendants were placed under house arrest, and the fourth was ordered not to leave.
