A large-scale event “Family History – Country History” has started in Norilsk

At the Norilsk kindergarten No. 86 “Brusnichka” the grand opening of the new season of the All-Russian event “Family History – History of the Country” took place. The initiative has been implemented within the framework of the federal party project “World of Opportunities” for the second year in a row.
Based on successful experience, the project will once again unite generations: preschool children, their parents and teachers will study their roots together, collecting memorable family photo albums and collages.
Roman Romanov, coordinator of the federal party project “World of Opportunities,” noted in his video message to the participants the importance of preserving historical memory:
“The action is not only a creative competition. This is an opportunity for every family to help children realize that family history is an integral part of the great history of Russia. We want to help our children, through the stories of their parents and grandparents, feel unity with their Motherland and its traditional values.”
The choice of Norilsk to launch the project is due not only to the historical significance of the City of Labor Valor, but also to the systemic leadership of the territory: polar educational institutions are annually among the regional and federal winners of the project. In addition, the industrial heritage of the north provides rich material for the study of family chronicles.
“Our descendants will definitely evaluate today's events, because we make history every day. It is important that children learn about the contributions of their ancestors in a language they can understand. Perhaps it was their grandparents who put a lot of work into ensuring that our plant provided metal to the whole country and helped the Motherland during the Great Patriotic War,” noted Irina Subocheva, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
This year, the organizers expanded the format of the event, covering the summer holiday period. This will give parents additional time to travel around the country and gather information from older relatives.
“For four years, the World of Opportunities project has united more than 50 educational organizations in Norilsk, and over 200 of our participants have received awards at various levels. The start of a new campaign is a continuation of systematic work in which mentors and parents participate together in shaping the values of the younger generation,” explained the municipal project coordinator, chairman of the Norilsk City Council deputy commission on social policy Larisa Neplyakhovich.
The education system traditionally places emphasis on the early involvement of students in patriotic initiatives, based on family values.
“The main guidelines in life are laid in the child by mom and dad in early childhood. Therefore, it is important that children from an early age understand the value of family. The participation of preschool institutions in such projects is a solid foundation for the healthy future of our society,” said Natalya Korosteleva, Deputy Head of Norilsk for Social Policy.
The right to press the symbolic button and give an official start to the action was entrusted to the large Norilsk family of the Subeevs. Rustam and Larisa are raising four children, instilling in them a love of sports and carefully preserving family rituals and traditions: they keep a “Memory Album”, share their impressions over “evening stories” and annually travel to historical places in Russia, practically studying the past of their country.
“Everyone is actively involved in the project: from large families to those raising one child. It is in such joint research work that the traditions that our children will one day bring into their own families are carefully passed on,” summed up the head of kindergarten No. 86 “Brusnichka” Svetlana Dubovskaya.
The results of the all-Russian project will be summed up on October 30, 2026. Over the coming months, thematic weeks “We live in Russia” will be held at kindergartens, and participating families will prepare historical collages. The most active pedigree researchers will be awarded federal diplomas and valuable prizes.
