Raul Rusescu, 37 years old, double champion with FCSBhe is adamant about the coach he should call the red-blues.

After the departure of Mirel Rădoi to Gaziantep, the champion of the last two editions of the Super League remained uncovered in the middle of the play-out.

Raul Rusescu, about the new FCSB coach: “Someone to learn from”

The president of the FCSB Board of Directors also said that he is not interested in working with Romanian technicians. Rusescu, former top scorer of the team, credited the idea, when asked who he would appoint as coach now.

It's an opportune moment to bring in a foreign coach, to work differently, to come with other ideas, with other principles. I would like it to be a foreign coach, to be someone new. There have been foreigners who have done good things in the Romanian championship, but I would like to see a new coach to come and from whom we can learn, to develop our football.

Otherwise, we're running the same names going around and around… but I'd better stop there, I don't want to say any more. I repeat, it would be good if a foreign coach came to change something“, said Raul Rusescu, at GSP Live.

4 yearsRusescu played at FCSB in 3 different periods: 2011-2013, 2014-2015 and 2018-2019. He won 4 trophies, two titles, one Cup and one League Cup. It was sold to Sevilla for 2.2 million euros

“I'm glad Elias Charalambous didn't come back”

Charalambous, wanted by MM Stoica, refused to return to FCSB. Rusescu is of the opinion that the answer of the Cypriot could not be any other.

“He left, it was a stage in his career. He was an unknown coach and he became one of our best in a relatively short time. He gave notable performances and I'm glad he didn't agree to come back.

It's time to follow another path. Because he probably won't want to work under the previous conditions either, but he also wouldn't have been able to benefit from Mirel Rădoi's rights, because he had already accepted the former way of working”, added the former striker of the national team.

My expectations were that Radoi would stay until the end of the championship. That he left halfway, that doesn't suit me. Things were getting back to normal, the team was starting to look good. A high level had begun to be seen. The good part is that Rădoi has shown that it is also possible at FCSB. It is the path that the club must continue to follow
