In an interview with CNN, Zelensky said that although talks are underway at the US level, he does not see “the possibility of meeting (…) until the Iran issue is closed.”

It is a challenge that the same team of negotiators – led by Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner – are conducting talks on both Iran and Ukraine, he admitted. He also appealed not to forget about Ukraine in the context of the ongoing war with Iran.

Zelensky said that due to this conflict, some deliveries of important weapons to Ukraine are being disrupted. This applies especially to anti-ballistic missiles. He added that Ukraine does not receive enough of these missiles due to limited production capacity in the US.

On Wednesday, EU sources announced that EU countries had reached a preliminary agreement on granting a loan of EUR 90 billion to Ukraine and imposing the 20th package of sanctions on Russia. So far, both decisions have been blocked by Hungary, which demanded the repair of the Druzhba pipeline.

Zelensky emphasized that receiving money from the EU is a matter of “life and survival” for his country. He added that without these funds, Ukraine would not fully use its weapons production capabilities. He noted that Ukraine currently produces approximately 1,000 interceptor drones, and has the capacity to produce 2,000. pieces per day. – But we don't have the funds. It's really a matter of our lives, our survival, we really need this money for defense, Zelensky said.

He called on the leaders of the US, China and India to tell Vladimir Putin that he must end the war in Ukraine.
