Severe weather alerts. Almost the entire country is under a strong wind code yellow

The National Meteorological Administration announces a period of severe weather in Romania, between April 22-24, with strong wind, snow in the mountains and episodes of fog, with Code Orange and Code Yellow warnings issued.

An orange wind code will be in effect on Thursday, April 23, between 12:00 and 20:00, in the counties of Botoșani, Iași and in the low area of Suceava county, where gusts will reach speeds of 70-90 km/h. In the mountains, in the Southern Carpathians, Curvature Carpathians and Western Mountains, the wind will blow extremely strongly, with gusts of up to 90–130 km/h at altitudes above 1,600 meters.
In parallel, a Yellow Wind Code will affect most of the country in the same range, with speeds of 50–70 km/h in plain and hill areas and gusts above 70–90 km/h in the mountains.
Meteorologists warn that between April 22, 10:00 a.m. and April 24, 10:00 a.m., the weather will be particularly unstable. Mixed precipitation is expected in the mountains, and at altitudes above 1,400 meters, in the Southern Carpathians and the Eastern Carpathians, snow will prevail, with a new layer of snow of about 5 centimeters.
In addition, temperatures will drop significantly for this time of year, and fog will form during the nights, especially in the intra-Carpathian regions and in the hilly areas of the rest of the country.
Authorities advise caution, especially in areas affected by high winds and severe weather.
