PSG continue their march to the Ligue 1 title

PSG defeated Nantes 3-0 in the 26th round of Ligue 1. The goals were scored by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (double) and Desire Doue.

In the last match of the championship, Luis Enrique's team lost at home, score 1-2 with Lyon. Today's victory allowed PSG to restore their four-point lead at the top of the table over Lens.

The pressure was on as Lens came within a point. After 29 matches played, the champion again has a comfortable advantage.

The start was strong. In the 12th minute, the hosts received a penalty, after a foul committed by Ali Yousef Mousrati. Referee Clement Turpin pointed to the spot with a lime and Kvaratskhelia converted without emotion.

Ousmane Dembele soon made it 2-0, but goalkeeper Anthony Lopes made an excellent save.

The guests reacted and managed to score in the 22nd minute, through Leroux, but the goal was canceled after VAR intervention. The moment weighed decisively. PSG took control again and in the 37th minute Doue increased the score.

Before the break, Abline had a great opportunity for the visitors, but Matvey Safonov came to the rescue.

The second half started at the same pace. Kvaratskhelia made it 3-0 immediately after the restart and closed the match. The Georgian finished from the box, no chance for Lopes.

Until the end, PSG controlled the game. Achraf Hakimi went wide in the 55th minute and Kvaratskhelia came close to a hat-trick in the 60th minute. In the end, Fabian Ruiz hit the bar and Frederic Guilbert missed the chance to score the winner for the visitors.

Paris Saint-Germain prevailed without emotion and consolidated their position at the top, four points ahead, with five stages to go. Next is the away duel with Angers.
