Why do we swell in the morning?
The lymphatic system is the “sewage system” of the body. When it stagnates, the body retains water: the face swells, bags appear under the eyes, the skin loses tone. But the good news is that you can start lymph flow with simple movements that will take less time than your morning coffee.
What to do:
Start with the neck – “walk” with soft strokes from the ears down to the collarbones. Repeat this action 10-15 times. Then continue by lightly tapping the pads of your fingers from the center of the forehead to the temples and down the face. Finish with gentle pressure at points under the cheekbones and at the sides of the nose. The whole complex will take 3-5 minutes.
Do the exercises with dry hands on clean skin; it is advisable to apply a drop of oil or serum so as not to stretch the skin. Movements should be very light – the lymph is close to the surface, strong pressure will only do harm. After just a week of regular exercise, you will notice that your face will become more defined, puffiness will go away, and your skin color will improve.
Precautionary measures: do not perform lymphatic drainage in case of inflammatory processes, elevated temperature, rosacea in the acute stage, or oncology. If you have chronic diseases, consult your doctor.
