After the appointment of Gică Hagi in the position of selector of the first representative team, Gigi Becali, 67 years old, the boss of the FCSBwas questioned, after the victory in the epilogue of the play-out round #5, about which players of the red-blues would have the status of “selectable”. The answer was blunt: Florin Tanase.
The scorer of the champion of the last two seasons in the Super League managed the third goal of FCSB on the shores of the Black Sea, in the 3-2 success, shooting elegantly from 16 meters, after a poor marking by Sîrbu and Dican.

“In my opinion, from what I saw tonight, the best Romanian player, even if I may be wrong, is Florin Tănase. I think so. He is a player who organizes everything for all his teammates. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think he's the best Romanian player.
I don't bother to say about anyone else. I would start any kind of selection with Tănase, because he is the best Romanian player at this time. I've always liked him, but tonight I saw a real footballer,” Gigi Becali said on Digi Sport's “Footbal Club” show, after Monday night's game.
“The best player in Romania is Florin Tănase. He's better than Dennis Man, Daniel Bîrligea, all of them, I think, organize their whole game”, Becali returned later, in an intervention on the “Footbal Show” show, from Prima Sport.

28of matches and 5 goals collected, throughout his career, by Florin Tănase, in the national team
Becali's message came a few hours after Gică Hagi was appointed as the Romanian national team coach, when he also presented the two criteria for making up the team: players with international experience, from abroad, and the best Romanian players in the Super League.
The selection makes the difference, so I think that the selection criteria are the main ones, the two: first, from my point of view, for the players to have international experience, at senior and junior level, to have matches, experience, because we are fighting with the best, we must have players from European cups.
Criterion 2, the best in Romania. You must be one of the best in Romania, on these criteria we will try to cultivate success.
