The Romanian teams debuted on Wednesday, October 15, in the FIBA Europe Cup, the fourth continental competition. CSM CSU Raiffeisen Oradea achieved a victory, while CSM Corona Brașov and CS Vâlcea 1924 were defeated.

On a night when U-BT Cluj-Napoca suffered a painful defeat in the BKT EuroCup and a day after the convincing success of CSO Voluntari in the European North Basketball League, three teams from Romania debuted in the 2025-2026 edition of the FIBA Europe Cup.

CSM Oradea prevailed, CSM Corona Brașov lost in group C of the FIBA Europe Cup

CSM CSU Raiffeisen Oradea received the visit of AEK Larnaca, in a match from group C of the competition. Bihoren controlled the game and, even though all quarters were balanced, they were won by Cristian Achim's team.

As a result, Romania's vice-champion prevailed 89-75 and achieved an important victory not only for the team's progress in the FIBA Europe Cup, but also for its morale in the context of a complicated start to the season.

CSM Oradea's leaders were Sayeed Pridgett (18 points), Thomas Bropleh (15 points, 7 rebounds), Emmanuel Nzekwesi (12 points, 9 rebounds) and Kris Richard (10 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists).

In the next round, which will take place in a week's time, on October 22, CSM Oradea will travel to the ground of CSM Corona Brașov, the other Romanian team assigned to group C.

Florin Nini's students started their European campaign with a trip to Turkey, at Aliaga Petkimspor. The band coached by Ozhan Civgin showed their experience, had excellent percentages of the action and led for more than 38 minutes.

At the end of the match, the scoreboard showed the score 85-74 for the hostswho at one point even led by 20 points. Petkimspor's best player was Yannick Franke (19 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists).

On the other side, Mihai Măciucă (15 points), Tyrell Johnson (14 points) and Selim Fofana (13 points, 9 assists) stood out from the Corona Brașov team.

CS Vâlcea 1924, decisively defeated, on their own ground, by Rasta Vechta

Romania's last representative in the FIBA Europe Cup was CS Vâlcea 1924, the bronze medalist of the National League. The students of Arturo Alvarez received the visit of Rasta Vechta (Germany), in a match of group G of the competition.

The debut of the “black wolves” on the European level was not auspicious. The guests dominated the game, won 3 of the 4 quarters and they prevailed with a difference of 19 points: 72-91.

Rasta Vechta had 5 players with at least 10 points: Joschka Ferner (18), Tommy Kuhse (13), Lloyd Pandi (12), TJ Mamba (12) and Lars Thiemann (10).

Instead, the leaders of CS Vâlcea 1924 were Emmanuel Lecomte (24 points, 6 assists), Lucas Tohătan (10 rebounds) and Rareș Uță (10 points, 7 rebounds).

In the second stage, a complicated trip to Italy awaits the team from Vâlcea, on Dinamo Sassari's field.
