To detain a drunk driver, employees of the Krasnoyarsk traffic police regiment had to use their service weapons. One of them was injured.
The incident occurred on the night of Saturday, April 18; the police press service provided details today. It is reported that on Karl Marx Street the driver of a tinted Audi ignored the request to stop and tried to escape. The police turned on their flashing lights and began pursuing.
“The offender was moving at high speed along the city streets, driving through a prohibiting traffic light and driving into oncoming traffic, thereby posing a threat to the life and health of road users. In addition, the Audi driver hit a state traffic inspector, causing him bruises, and then continued driving. Police officers decided to use their service weapons to stop the vehicle. First, warning shots were fired, and then at the wheels. After damaging the tires, the driver continued driving, but lost control and ran into an obstacle on Lenin Street, after which he tried to escape, but was detained,” said the Krasnoyarskoye Ministry of Internal Affairs.

A 32-year-old resident of Krasnoyarsk was driving the foreign car. During his examination, the breathalyzer showed 0.86 mg/l in the exhaled air. At the same time, the man never received a driver’s license, and a month ago he was already brought to administrative responsibility for driving while drunk.
For new traffic violations, 7 administrative protocols were drawn up against the attacker. For one of them – for disobedience to a lawful request of a police officer – The court sentenced him to 12 days of arrest.
In addition, the issue of initiating criminal cases is being resolved: for the use of violence against a representative of the authorities (Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and repeated driving while intoxicated (Part 1 of Article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
