Traffic lights will be installed at the roundabout on Kalinina Street in the Oktyabrsky district of Krasnoyarsk.
According to the mayor of the city Sergei Vereshchaginthe townspeople previously came up with such an initiative. The proposal was reviewed by the Traffic Management Center and found to be effective.
UThe installation of traffic lights on the ring along with the relocation of the “Stela Oktyabrsky District” stop will reduce congestion by more than 20%.
Two other proposals, according to Vereshchagin, require additional elaboration. So, the option of connecting the street is being considered Yastynskaya with Molokov or Alekseev. This will provide convenient access to Green Grove for residents of Vzletka.
Krasnoyarsk residents also proposed canceling part of the dedicated lane on Vysotnaya Street. Next year, during the overhaul of the road section, they also plan to move the stop a little closer to Kalinin, which should solve congestion when turning left onto Svobodny Avenue.
Vereshchagin added that the practice of analyzing initiatives from Krasnoyarsk residents will continue.
