What uses the most electricity at home? List of 10 devices

If you want to reduce electricity consumption, it's not always about turning off the lights in empty rooms or unplugging unused chargers. It is also important to choose energy-saving devices, but also consciously use the home appliances you already have.
High electricity bills are a problem for many households. Conscious management of energy consumption not only saves money, but also protects the environment. It is worth knowing which equipment generates the highest costs and how to reduce them.
What uses the most electricity at home? List of 10 devices
As calculated by Rachuneo.pl, they consume the most energy at home induction hob and electric boiler — their annual costs may exceed PLN 1,000. We will also pay a lot for using an oven or refrigerator that works continuously.
The list of “power guzzlers” also includes: washing machine, iron, induction hob, clothes dryer, air conditioning, electric heating and computers and chargers. The last item in particular is a silent cost generator.
Chargers don't seem to charge much, but everyone charges their phone, tablet, smartwatch or other device many times a year. These small payments – especially in the case of many devices and several household members – will add up to a considerable amount in the annual settlement.

An oven and a dishwasher can consume from 0.8 to 1.5 kWh per hour or cycle, and a clothes dryer can consume up to 4 kWh per cycle.
The refrigerator works 24 hours a day, which gives up to 200 kWh per year. Washing at high temperatures or ironing every day also significantly increases wear and tear. For example, an A++ class washing machine that consumes 0.55 kWh on average and is used five times a week generates an annual cost of use of PLN 143.

Such calculations allow you to easily identify the largest electricity consumers.
How to reduce electricity bills? Introduce new habits
It is worth choosing devices with the eco function and high energy class, using full loads in the dishwasher and washing machine, and avoiding the stand-by mode in RTV equipment. Ironing larger batches of clothes at once or cooking on an induction hob with an automatic shut-off function allows you to reduce losses.
