“I'd like some advice, if I may.”

Răzvan Lucescu left Romania on Sunday, the first day of Easter, two days away from the funeral of the father, Mircea Lucescudied Tuesday, March 7, aged 80. At the airport, Răzvan wanted to talk to the press, at the end of a terrible week for him and the whole family.

The PAOK coach had returned urgently to the country exactly one week ago, after the match in the Greek championship, with a private plane, made available by the owner of the club, in the context in which the former Romanian coach was in critical condition in the hospital.

On Sunday afternoon he returned to Greece, with a Ryanair flight, but a few minutes before take-off he stayed to give a reaction to the press, extremely emotional. He thanked everyone who stood by him in these complicated days and offered advice to all the children, while also speaking of his great regret.

Răzvan Lucescu, upon leaving Romania, with his voice choked with pain: “I feel that I have communicated much too little with him lately”

“Today I want to thank from the bottom of my heart absolutely all those who were with my father on this last journey, those who took care of organizing the funeral, all those who had a good thought for him, but absolutely all those who somewhere, far away or here, in Bucharest, felt close to him.

Unfortunately, for me it's a very difficult, complicated moment, but that's life, we have to know how to get through it, I'm not the only one, there are so many people who have lost their parents. We have to understand and accept, we struggle to get through.

I would have only one piece of advice, if I can afford it, to all the sons and daughters who have parents, to talk to them as much as possible, as much as possible. And if they don't, let the parents force them to do it.

You deal with time, with problems, it seems to you that nothing will ever happen and suddenly it hits you and you come to understand that you didn't do, that you didn't communicate enough. At this moment I feel that I have communicated with him far too little lately”said Răzvan Lucescu, at the airport, before leaving Romania.
