The prosecutor's office informed that the court chose a preventive measure for the teenager in the form of detention for a period of 60 days without the possibility of posting bail.
The department noted that, based on the available evidence, the young man’s actions were qualified as the commission of a complete attempt to intentionally unlawfully cause the death of two or more persons, that is, a criminal offense under Part 2 of Art. 15 clause 1 and part 2 art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
“According to the investigation, a 15-year-old teenager, during February-March of this year, ordered a noise pistol, lead balls and blank cartridges via the Internet. Subsequently, design changes were made to the pistol and cartridges, making them suitable for murder. On April 16, at about 9.30, he fired several shots from a pistol in the direction of his classmates. One of the bullets hit the student’s shoulder. After that, the suspect fled from the school. He was quickly detained, and the weapon seized,” the release said.
An investigation is currently underway, all versions of the investigation are being pursued and the motives for the suspect’s actions are being established.
Police previously reported that the incident was being investigated as a terrorist attack. Law enforcement officials did not rule out that the teenager could have acted under the influence and psychological pressure of unidentified persons with whom he contacted through one of the messengers and met through an online game. In particular, he spoke about receiving threats to cause harm to his loved ones if the demands were not met.
