US President Donald Trump prevented on Tuesday that the ultimature given to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to put an end to the war in Ukraine will be matured in ten days, AFP reports.
Upon return from Scotland, Trump told journalists on the Air Force One presidential plane that Moscow's term is “ten days starting today” -Tuesday, July 29 -, after which the US will impose sanctions against Russia, according to Agerpres.
After July 14 gave a 50 -day ultimatum to the Kremlin leader to end the conflict, Trump announced on Monday that he sets a new term of “10 or 12 days.”
“There is no reason to wait. We see no progress,” the head of the White House justified Monday.
And on Tuesday, Trump said he had not received any news from Vladimir Putin in the meantime.
“I have no answer. It's a sin,” he added.
“We will impose customs taxes and other things,” continued the US president, and then notes: “I do not know if this will affect Russia, because, as far as you can see (Vladimir Putin, no) wants the war to continue.”
Previously on Tuesday, the Kremlin said he “took note” by Donald Trump's statement that he shortens Moscow's term to sign a fire termination in Ukraine.
Asked on Tuesday about the US president's statement, the Kremlin spokesman gave a brief answer.
“I took note of President Trump's statement yesterday. The special military operation,” said Dmitri Peskov, using the term Moscow to refer to his War Efforts in Ukraine.
