The Bureau of the Regional Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks adopted a resolution “On the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the formation of the Jewish Autonomous Region.” The departments of the regional party committee were tasked with broadly covering the achievements of the region's workers during this period. Activities have been approved that should be carried out in the regional center and in the regions.

The newspaper of the Obluchensky district “Iskra Khingan” (12+) on April 19, 1962 was dedicated to the upcoming birthday of V.I. Lenin. An article by a pensioner “I listened to Ilyich” was published on the pages of the newspaper; it tells that Isaac Efimovich Tregubov lives in the city of Obluchye, who was lucky enough to see and hear Vladimir Ilyich Lenin. Isaac Efimovich recalls August 1919, when the headquarters of the Western Flotilla was transferred to Moscow to Red Square “and then we saw an open passenger car slowly moving between the rows, in which Vladimir Ilyich was standing… Every word spoken by Lenin remained in my mind for the rest of my life. Ilyich’s speech inspired us to new exploits. With the name of Lenin and with the thought of the Bolshevik Party, of the Soviet Motherland, we went into battle and won. Before our eyes, the prophetic words of Vladimir Ilyich that our road is the right one are coming true, and sooner or later the rest of the countries will follow this road…”
On the pages of the newspaper there is an article by G. Gridin, senior pioneer leader of the Obluchenskaya eight-year school No. 1, “The School Museum of V. I. Lenin.” The pioneer leader tells in the article how the school museum was formed, how it was decorated, and that the museum hosts patriotic events.
“By class, the pioneers collected postcards, paintings and reproductions. Then they designed a map “Journey to the places of life and work of V.I. Lenin.” They made a stand “V.I. Lenin is forever alive” and exhibited literature telling about the life and work of Vladimir Ilyich, memories of those who worked and met with him.”

The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” (12+) on April 19, 1980 informed its readers that a review of amateur performances (6+) of enterprises, organizations, and secondary educational institutions took place in Birobidzhan. About two thousand people from eighteen creative teams took part in it. The show was dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the birth of V.I. Lenin.
Interesting, informative, multi-genre programs were shown by teams from shoe and clothing factories, a power transformer plant, a pedagogical school, and the Palace of Culture. The competition featured choral and solo singing, dancing, brass bands, vocal and instrumental ensembles, artistic reading, sports numbers and compositions dedicated to the upcoming Moscow Olympics (6+).
In the same newspaper, Viktor Solomatov’s article “The Price of Victory” talks about Alexander Efimovich Veksler, a participant in the Great Patriotic War. Moscow and Stalingrad, Kursk Bulge, Dnieper… each of these names is noted in the front-line biography of Alexander Efimovich. And every battle entered the biography of our fellow countryman either as a military decoration or as a wound.

The newspaper “Birobidzhanskaya Zvezda” wrote on April 19, 2005 that by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, for many years of public work in social support of war veterans and patriotic education of youth, the medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, 2nd degree, was awarded to: Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the village of Khingansk, Obluchensky District of the Jewish Autonomous Okrug, Boris Martynovich Musko and Chairman of the Council of War and Labor Veterans of the Municipal Formation “Leninsky” district” EAO Ivan Nikolaevich Tomilov.
The same newspaper contains information that four “Golden Support” prizes were received by regional enterprises in a competition among consumers (12+), announced by Russian power engineers. This competition was held for the first time. Special award “Golden Support” and diplomas signed by the Chairman of the Board of RAO “UES of Russia” Anatoly Chubais.
In the Jewish Autonomous Region, the Golden Support prize was awarded to the agricultural enterprise Bogatyr LLC from the village of Ekaterino-Nikolskoye, Oktyabrsky district. In the category “Small Business Enterprises” – PE Brener, among industrial enterprises – Birobidzhan Knitting Factory “Victoria”. And the mayor's office of the city of Birobidzhan won in the category “Enterprises financed from the budget.”
