After winter, frequent hand washing and wearing gloves, many notice that their nails have become thin, crumbling at the edges, and the cuticles are cracking. This is not always a lack of vitamins. The most common reason is dehydration of the nail plate and dry skin around it due to temperature changes and aggressive detergents.
But you can restore the strength of your nails without expensive balms and salon procedures. One simple remedy is enough, which is found in almost every kitchen.
How to do:
- Heat a little vegetable oil in a water bath to a comfortable temperature.
- Dip your fingertips into the oil for 10-15 minutes, or rub it into the nail plate and cuticle with massage movements.
- Wear cotton gloves or simply let the oil soak in and let the product work for another 15-20 minutes.
- Rinse off any remaining residue with warm water.
Repeat the procedure 2-3 times a week. This is enough for the nails to stop splitting, become smoother and more elastic, and the cuticles to be soft and healthy.
After just 10–14 days, you will notice that your nails do not break during normal household activities, they grow more evenly, and the hangnails have almost disappeared. Regular nutrition with oil strengthens the nail bed from the inside and creates a protective barrier against external aggression.
