The submitted applications include: those regarding the building permit for the terminal, railway and bus stations along with foundations.

“Investments related to Port Polska have gained unprecedented momentum. Property purchases, demolitions and the first preparatory works have been going on for months on the site of the future airport. Now we are submitting applications for construction permits and we are ready to break ground,” said Maciej Lasek, the government representative for the Central Communication Port, quoted in the release.

One of the key elements of the documentation is the passenger terminal design. The area of the facility will be approximately 450,000 m2. sq m, which is almost three times more than the current Chopin Airport terminal. On the opening day, 72 passenger terminals and approximately 140 ticket and baggage check-in counters are planned. The signing of the contract for the construction of the terminal is planned for 2026, and the airport is scheduled to be launched by the end of 2032.

The applications also included piling under the terminal, which is the first stage of foundation construction. “In the first phase, we plan to drive over 8,100 piles with a length of 9 to 30 meters. The tender will be announced in the coming days, and the works will start in 2026 and be completed by the end of 2027.” – said the president of CPK, Dr. Filip Czernicki, quoted in the announcement.

The documentation also includes construction permits for a railway station with six platforms and twelve tracks and a bus station, which together with the terminal will create an integrated transfer hub.

At the beginning of December, the Masovian Voivode made the CPK location decision immediately enforceable, which opened the way to obtaining building permits and launched the compensation process for taking over the missing plots.

Thanks to the rigor of immediate feasibility, it is possible to initiate the formalities necessary to start work. The location decision regarding the Central Communication Port investment includes an airport, road and railway component.

According to the adopted schedule, the construction of the airport in the municipalities of Baranów, Wiskitki and Teresin is to begin in 2026. In 2031, the airport is to obtain the necessary certifications, and in 2032 it is to be put into operation together with the first section of high-speed railway in Poland: Warsaw – Port Polska – Łódź. The estimated investment cost until 2032 is PLN 131.7 billion. (PAP)
