– I'm happy to report today – I thought I'd leave it for this audience because you guys are… a bit peculiar – this process is ongoing and I must say that we have found a lot of very interesting documents. And the first publications will begin very, very soon, Trump announced. — So you can go out and see if this phenomenon is real. Let me know (…) It's something that really fascinates the mind – he added, although a moment earlier he admitted that he was not very interested in this issue himself.

Order to declassify documents about UFOs

Trump ordered the Pentagon to declassify UFO documents on February 20. AARO's special UAP team has been operating at the Pentagon since 2021, but so far its public reports have said they have found no evidence of extraterrestrial technology. However, former team member David Grusch testified in Congress that US authorities have been hiding contacts and knowledge about aliens for decades and that they have found many crashed extraterrestrial ships.

Trump's February announcement was a reaction to the words of former President Barack Obama, who said in one of his interviews that “aliens are real”, although he later explained that he had not seen any evidence of this and that he only meant the statistical probability of the existence of life outside Earth.

Trump claimed that Obama, by talking about the existence of extraterrestrials, revealed classified information and made a “big mistake.” However, he did not decide whether aliens exist, although he admitted that many people believe in it.
