In Krasnoyarsk, the next victim of scammers was an 18-year-old student who lost the apartment of her father who died in the Northern Military District. This was reported by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.

In January 2026, the girl received a call from an unknown number. The interlocutor introduced himself as a tax officer and reported undeclared income. However, during the conversation, she heard the fake specialist tell his colleague in a low voice: “She received a code from State Services, what should she do next? We have 1 hour to talk to her.” The Krasnoyarsk woman immediately interrupted the conversation, but it was not possible to save the savings, since the attackers had built a criminal chain.

Following the instructions of the false State Services employee and her accomplice, who supposedly represented the Central Bank, the student installed a VPN, wrote a “non-disclosure agreement” and downloaded a file with an electronic signature, the authenticity of which was confirmed by the scammers through a fake check on the portal.

After that, she received a call from a fake FSB officer, who showed the girl via video link a fake “general power of attorney” stamped “copy.” The student was informed that in order to cancel this supposed document, a fictitious sale of the apartment that she inherited from her father who died in the Northern Military District was necessary.

“Under the control of the attackers, the victim and her mother sold their home for 6.5 million rubles. After this, the relatives flew to Moscow, where they withdrew the money and handed it over to the “courier” in a local park. Returning to Krasnoyarsk, the student, at the behest of the scammers, took 2 million rubles from her grandmother’s apartment and sent it to unknown people through an ATM,” the supervisory agency said.

According to the victim girl, she generally knew about methods of fraud from the Internet, but she did not know about this method.

Based on this fact, a criminal case was opened for fraud (Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
