The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued rain and wind warnings valid until Saturday evening in the center, south and east of the country. Ten counties are under Yellow Code for gales and hail on Friday, and another 15 counties will be affected by wind intensifications on Saturday.

Meteorologists have announced an information of atmospheric instability and wind intensifications, valid from Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to Saturday, at 8:00 p.m.

“During the mentioned interval, in the center, south and east of the territory, the atmospheric instability will be temporarily accentuated and there will be periods of showers, accompanied in limited areas by electrical discharges. The rains will also have a torrential character, thus, in short intervals of time, water quantities of 15…20 l/m2 will accumulate locally and in limited areas over 25 l/m2. Isolated in the southern regions will fall hail”, the meteorologists pointed out.

Temporarily, the wind will intensify during Friday in the western regions, but also in the rest of the territory, especially during the rains, and on Saturday in the east, southeast, in the mountains and locally in the rest. There will be speeds in general of 45…55 km/h, and in the high mountain area the gusts will be 60…80 km/h.

At the same time, a Yellow Code warning of temporarily increased atmospheric instability was issued, valid on Friday, between 12:00 and 21:00.

“In the counties of Mehedinţi, Gorj, Vâlcea, Argeş, Dâmboviţa, Prahova, Buzău, Vrancea, Braşov and Covasna there will be periods of increased atmospheric instability. This will be manifested by torrential downpours, electrical discharges, wind intensifications (gusts of 50…55 km/h) and isolated gales and hail. In short time intervals (1…3 hours) the amounts of water will be 20…25 l/sq m and isolated over 35 l/sq m”, ANM reported.

Another Yellow Code warning will be in effect on Saturday, between 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., and will target wind intensifications.

Thus, throughout Saturday, in most of Moldova, in Dobrogea and the east of Muntenia, there will be intensification of the wind with speeds of 50…65 km/h. In the area of ​​the Curbura Carpathians, the gusts will be 70…80 km/h.

The counties of Botoşani, Iași, Vaslui, Galati, Vrancea, Buzău, Brăila, Tulcea, Constanta, Călăraşi, Ialomiţa and some areas of Covasna, Bacău, Neamţ and Suceava counties are targeted.
