Costel Gâlcă (53 years old) was officially presented as a coach of the Rapid, at a press conference. Next to Gâlcă was Victor Angelescu, the minority shareholder of the Rapid, writes Golazo.ro.

The former international signed a contract valid until 2027 with Giulestii. “I am glad to be part of this club. I want this year to be a very good one, with satisfaction, to bring results and to enjoy all,” Gâlcă said.

“I know the lot of the Rapid, I knew he has very good, young, future players and I will not hide that I want many of them to reach the national team through the game we will provide.

Regarding the transfers, Gâlcă says that he is not a follower of the great changes, and if he brings many players, they will be difficult to integrate,

“The lot has already been set for reunion. There are also the U21 players, who are with the national team, there is Jambor for income. There are 27 players at the reunion and it is important that those players can integrate them as soon as possible, because they are the first option for us.”

Costel Gâlcă said that the lot also needs an striker, who will create competition with Burma and Koljic. Then a central defender would be needed.

Regarding the relationship with the fans, given his past at Steaua and FCSB, he said: “I think in my life as a athlete I spoke with respect for clubs and players.” However, he emphasizes that he will not kiss the flag of the Rapid, as Dan Petrescu did in the past: “This will not do it because I do not prove anything if I kiss the flag of the Rapid or swear another team.”
