The doctors participating in the operation wore body armor and helmets. The recovered explosives were handed over to explosives experts. In order not to endanger the operating unit, the charging part was removed in the corridor, moving part of the equipment there.
Miguel said that he and his partner were driving to the position on an ATV when the car hit a mine.
“I was just thrown into the air. I even started to burn: my entire upper part, my vest – it all caught fire. I managed to fall to the ground and put out the flames with my hands,” he noted.
