Large loan debt written off in Krasnoyarsk Territory

The Krasnoyarsk Territory has reduced the amount of debt on budget loans in the amount of 5.5 billion rubles. The decision was made by the Russian government and is aimed at reducing the debt burden of the regions and strengthening their financial stability.

Let us recall that from 2025, in accordance with the message of President Vladimir Putin, new mechanisms to support the country’s constituent entities were launched. One of them is writing off two thirds of the debt on previously provided budgetary funds loans, which is in the Krasnoyarsk Territory amounts to 12.5 billion rubles. On behalf of Governor Mikhail Kotyukov, the region was actively involved in the implementation federal decision.

Total 16 Russian regions will be helped to reduce their debts; the total volume of write-offs is almost 31 billion rubles this year. Reduction size dolga corresponds to the funds that the region has previously invested in priority areas. These include the implementation of infrastructure projects in the housing and communal services sector, renewal of public transport, industrial development and social support measures related to the conduct of a special military operation.

As Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Vladimir Bakhar noted, for Krasnoyarsk the decision to reduce the credit burden creates an additional margin of safety and increases debt sustainability.
