Sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, ex-Prince Andrew and ex-minister Peter Mandelson in a photo released publicly for the first time

A photo of the American sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, sitting at the table with former Prince Andrew and Peter Mandelson, a historical figure of the British Labor Party, was broadcast for the first time on Friday by British television ITV News and other media, including AFP.
The photo in which the three appear together is part of documents published by the American Ministry of Justice, notes the press agency, quoted by Agerpres.
Andrew, the younger brother of King Charles III, and Peter Medelson are at the center of the British part of the Epstein case because of their links to the American financier, who died in prison in 2019.
The photograph shows Andrew and Peter Mandelson, both in bathrobes, outside around a wooden table with Jeffrey Epstein, who is wearing a black T-shirt and light-coloured trousers.
According to ITV, the image was taken in Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts, in the eastern United States. It is undated, but according to this TV station, it could be made in 1999 or 2000.
The image is one of the millions of documents published on January 30 by the US Department of Justice.
A scandal of proportions
Since then, numerous leaders and other figures around the world have been embroiled in the scandal surrounding the disclosure of their past ties to Jeffrey Epstein, which has led to criminal investigations, arrests and resignations, particularly in Europe.
Former toddler Andrew and Peter Mandelson were both arrested and detained in the UK in February on suspicion of passing sensitive financial information to Jeffrey Epstein.
Mandelson, a former minister and European commissioner, was ambassador to Washington from the end of 2024 until he was recalled in September 2025.
He is suspected of breaching his duties in the exercise of public functions while he was a minister in Gordon Brown's government between 2008 and 2010.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the official name of the former prince who in the meantime lost his royal titles, is suspected that, during the period in which he was the United Kingdom's special envoy for trade (2001-2011), he would have sent Jeffrey Epstein information related to his functions.
He was also accused by Virginia Giuffre, Epstein's main accuser, who said she was coerced into having sex with the former prince starting in 2001, three times, most notably when she was 17. She committed suicide in 2025. Andrew denies any wrongdoing.
