Andrei Arshavin's ex-wife Alisa almost completely lost her nose – the cartilage was destroyed due to an autoimmune disease. The woman tried to restore her face for several years to no avail – finally she contacted a St. Petersburg plastic surgeon who was able to restore the former appearance of the football player’s former lover. The doctor shared the results on his social networks.
Denis Agapov (Assistant Professor of the Department of Plastic Surgery at PSPbSMU) said: Arshavin’s ex-wife came to him with destroyed tissues of the nose – at that moment there was no more cartilage, only a small scar remained in the middle of the face. The painstaking recovery took a year and a half: a total of nine operations were performed.
The most difficult thing, according to Agapov, was the replacement of soft tissues – Alisa simply did not have them. The skin for the new nose was taken from the nasolabial folds, and the cartilage was borrowed from the woman’s rib and ear.
But all the work paid off – the nose has already acquired the correct shape. Despite this, the former lover of the football player will have to go through three more stages of plastic surgery. As the surgeon notes, he is now working on refining the “rough design into an elegant and beautiful female nose.”
