Police officers are conducting an investigation into damage to graves at a cemetery in the Minusinsk District. This was reported to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

The duty station received a message that unknown persons had damaged graves in the village of Topolki. During operational search activities, law enforcement officers found out that three schoolchildren were involved in the damage to the tombstones. The youngest of them is 9 years old, the other two are 11.

Currently, juvenile affairs inspectors are conducting an investigation to establish all the circumstances of the incident. In the future, at the request of the police, the material will be sent to the commission on juvenile affairs and protection of their rights.

“After the commission makes a decision, the PDN staff will decide on the issue of registering schoolchildren for preventive registration. The parents of the minors will have to compensate the injured party,” the law enforcement officials explained.

In relation to the parents of minors, the police registered two materials under Art. 5.35 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “Failure of parents or other legal representatives of minors to fulfill obligations for the maintenance and upbringing of minors.”
