Reciprocal attacks between Russia and Ukraine: five children and other civilians killed, dozens injured

Three Ukrainians, including a child, and two Russian children were killed on Thursday, April 16, in a series of attacks launched by both sides, with soldiers and several injured.

“Two people, a 12-year-old boy and a 35-year-old woman, died as a result of an enemy attack on the capital”the mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, wrote on Telegram, writes News.ro.

A Russian attack in Dnipro killed one person and injured ten others. Night strikes on Odesa left five injured, according to Ukrainian authorities.
In Russia, two children (5 and 14 years old) died in a Ukrainian drone attack in the Krasnodar region, Governor Veniamin Kondratiev announced.
A day before, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte called on the Alliance's member states to step up their military support for Ukraine and not let the conflict fade into the background.
“We need to make sure that Ukraine has what it takes to continue the fight. So there is broad agreement on that on both sides of the Atlantic.”he also said.
The meeting takes place in a complicated geopolitical context, where negotiations to end the conflict, initiated under pressure from US President Donald Trump, are at a standstill.
On the one hand, Russian President Vladimir Putin demands the ceding of territories in eastern Ukraine, including areas of Donbas, while Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky rejects any territorial compromise.
