In the draw on March 10, the lucky winner won exactly PLN 703,000. EUR 600 (PLN 2.9 million). According to the Lotto24 operator, the winner came from the Westerwald district in Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany.
However, the man could not enjoy his victory because he was already dead. Deutsche Welle reports that this situation was possible because the man had an active lottery subscription.

While still alive, the man placed an appropriate fate, which was valid also after his death. The win occurred during the period when the subscription was still active.
The lottery operator emphasizes that the money situation is clear – the winnings become part of the inheritance and pass to the heirs. The verification process has been completed and the sum will go to the widow.
