“Creeping transformation into the rear of Ukraine.” The Russian Ministry of Defense published a nervous statement on assistance from EU countries

“According to available information, on March 26, 2026, the leadership of a number of European countries, against the backdrop of increasing losses and a worsening shortage of manpower in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, decided to increase the production and supply of UAVs to Ukraine for attacks on Russian territory,” the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

The statement does not explain why these countries decided to increase production on March 26. At the same time, the statement itself appeared after the UK announced that this year it will supply Ukraine with 120 thousand drones of various types.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that it assesses this decision as a deliberate step that could lead to an escalation of the military-political situation “on the entire European continent” and “the creeping transformation of European countries into the strategic rear of Ukraine.”

The statement also contains allegations about the alleged involvement of European leaders in a war with Russia and threats regarding “unpredictable consequences.”

Separately, the Russian Ministry of Defense addressed the European public, declaring the need to “understand the true causes of threats to their security.”

The statement contains language that can be interpreted as an indirect allusion to risks for enterprises involved in the production of UAVs in Europe, but without directly specifying any specific actions.

“The European public should not only clearly understand the true reasons for the threats to their security, but also know the addresses, as well as the locations of “Ukrainian” and “joint” enterprises for the production of UAVs and components for Ukraine on the territory of their countries,” the statement says.
