The war in the Middle East has now caused the fighting in Ukraine to take a backseat. Moreover, due to the conflict with Iran, it is difficult for Kiev's allies to maintain their already modest supplies of air defense systems.
According to the specialist website The War Zone, Ukraine must develop its own surface-to-air missile if it wants to effectively counter Russia's aggression. And everything indicates that this is exactly what happened.
Volodymyr Zelensky has just presented a new weapon. Ukraine's president spoke this week surrounded by several weapons systems. One of these systems is a previously unknown model without an official name. According to the Defense Blog website, it is a Koral anti-aircraft missile.
Range up to 100 km

According to The War Zone, the missile's range was initially estimated at 30 to 50 km. However, later information appeared about the range reaching up to 100 km. The rocket is to weigh about 300 kg, carry a warhead weighing about 25 kg and fly at a speed of about 3,600 km per hour.
The Koral missile is supposed to be able to shoot down not only enemy aircraft and cruise missiles, but also ballistic missiles. According to Focus magazine, these weapons require high maneuverability for this purpose, as these targets can quickly change altitude and flight direction.
Therefore, in the Koral missile, in addition to the classic control surfaces, a gas control system in the engine jet was also installed. Thanks to this, the missile will be able to correct its flight trajectory just before impact.
Robots were also presented
The anti-aircraft missile program itself remains top secret, writes Defense Blog. However, it is known that the Koral missile is to be developed and produced in Ukraine. The first version of this weapon was presented in 2021. However, Kiev did not inform whether the missile has already entered mass production.
In addition to the new missile, Zelensky also presented the latest military robot technology. According to the president, these unmanned Ukrainian weapon systems have been used on the front for over 20,000 years. times in the last three months. Military robots even once managed to capture a Russian position without the help of human infantry.
Japan can turn the tide of Russia's war in Ukraine. “This Changes Everything”
But that's not the end. Ukraine could use an inexpensive Japanese drone to destroy Russian missiles worth millions of dollars. The new production beats the popular Shahids. Kyiv and Tokyo just shook hands. And this means serious problems for Vladimir Putin.
In the Middle East and Ukraine, hundreds of combat drones are currently flying across the skies — sometimes even in a single night. Regardless of their goals, they have one thing in common: mass production and relatively low costs.
On the other hand, defending against drones using missiles turns out to be not only much more difficult, but also extremely expensive. This is the dilemma the new collaboration is now trying to solve. The Japanese company Terra Drone and the Kharkov start-up Amazing Drones officially announced their partnership on March 31 in Kiev. — This changes everything — United 24 Media quotes Toru Tokushige, CEO of Terra Drone.
“Unprecedented effect” of attacks on Russia. March was a breakthrough for Kiev
The war in Iran helped Russia increase its profits from oil sales. — Ukraine could not remain passive. The strategy was to hit the export potential of the aggressor – says geoeconomics expert Oleg Sarkic in an interview with Onet, who also assesses the effects of the “March campaign”.
